![]() A person with an addictive personality may be unable to walk away from a video game after playing for several hours. Imagine a child who spends their time engaging in video games or other activities they find enjoyable. However, a person who has an addictive personality may be more likely to use drugs or alcohol or engage in activities that are addictive, such as gambling. What Is an Addictive Personality?Īs noted, addictive personality is not an official disorder, nor is it a type of addiction. A select few results were removed from the initial dataset due to unrealistic completion time. No other information was gathered other than answers to questions. The participants from this group were not in any way weighted or modified to correct for a standard demographic. Using survey platform Mechanical Turk, we had over 500 unique users complete the same questionnaire shown above. The average test taker completed this quiz in just over 3 minutes.89.1% of people who lie about their behavior (Q:19) want to stop and acknowledge the problem with continuing.40.5% of test takers have been told that a habit they have engaged in isn’t healthy.Of those who had experienced legal trouble 90% of them also agreed greater pleasure is correlated to greater risk. Our expected lowest-agreement questions (Q:6) about whether you have gotten into legal trouble related to the activity in question, still polled at 30% agreement.34.59% consider themselves risk takers (Q:22).of those who agree, 78% of respondents have had a health concern related to the activity they struggle to regulate, up from 35% in the group as a whole.32.43% agree that greater pleasure is tied to greater risk.51.17% (our highest agreed upon question) admit that there is something they have committed to quitting, but keep coming back to (Q:1).Here are a few more stand-out statistics from the dataset we received: The largest group, in fact, was the ‘extremely addicted’ label. Our labels, like the rest of the test, is not a diagnosis, but simply a comparison to how test-takers performed in a group. The results slanted much higher than we expected with our crowd-sourced survey. 28.37% fell into the 21-25 point group (extremely addictive personality group).24.11% fell into the 16-20 point group (very addictive personality group).24.58% fell into the 11-15 point group (moderate to high addictive personality group).11.58% fell into the 6-10 point group (slightly addictive personality group).11.58% fell into the 0-5 point group (lowest addictive personality group). What follows are the results from our 500 participant survey: Results from people like yourself filling out the quiz on this page are not displayed anywhere. The data below is based on the initial survey, not from completions of the survey on this page. The data below was also used to create the Results/Score graphics seen at the end of the quiz. We asked a group of over 500 participants the same questions as shown above. Make sure you take our quiz first! We don’t want your honesty to be spoiled by seeing the results. ![]() Will Insurance Cover Behavioral Treatment?.Beacon Health / Value Options Insurance.Rehab Success Rate – Does It Really Work?.Shatterproof FHE Health (First Responders).
